Sedation Dentistry Allows You to Relax During Treatment
If you have been delaying a visit to the dentist due to anxiety, we want you to know that our caring team will make every effort to provide you with gentle dental care. When needed, we can offer two types of sedation dentistry:
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral sedation involves a prescribed sedative taken at home before your dental appointment. The type of medication prescribed by Dr. Mamah will be determined by the amount of dental work needed and your level of anxiety. The effects of oral sedation will help you achieve a state of near-sleep throughout treatment. You will need to arrange transportation to and from our Hackensack, NJ, dental offices on the day of your procedure.
Intravenous (IV) Sedation
IV sedation is recommended for patients with extreme dental phobia, acute sensitivity, or a need for a lengthy procedure. Like oral conscious sedation, IV sedation provides deep relaxation, but you won't be asleep. However, because IV sedation is administered directly to the bloodstream, it can be immediately adjusted to meet your needs. This sedation also requires patients to arrange transportation to and from our offices.
