Dr. Judith Mamah Recognized as a 2026 NJ Top Dentist
Designing Smiles Dental is proud to celebrate Dr. Judith Mamah, who has been recognized as a 2026 NJ Top Dentist by NJ Top Docs.
This recognition represents a meaningful milestone for Dr. Mamah and the entire Designing Smiles Dental team. It celebrates a career built around comprehensive dental care, patient education, and a commitment to helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental journey.
More Than Three Decades of Dedication to Dentistry
Dr. Mamah has been practicing dentistry for more than three decades and founded Designing Smiles Dental in Hackensack in 1999. Throughout her career, she has developed a comprehensive approach to dentistry, taking the time to understand each patient’s needs and create personalized treatment plans.
Her clinical experience encompasses restorative and cosmetic dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, complex oral rehabilitation, dental implants, and orthodontic care. This broad perspective allows her to consider both the immediate dental concern and the patient’s overall oral health when planning treatment.
A Patient-Centered Approach to Dental Care
For Dr. Mamah, dentistry goes beyond treating teeth. Creating an environment where patients feel heard, informed, and comfortable has remained an important part of her approach to care.
She understands that some patients may feel anxious about visiting the dentist or may have delayed treatment for years. Through patient education, a gentle approach, and appropriate comfort and sedation options, Dr. Mamah works to help patients feel more confident about receiving the care they need.
A Commitment to Learning and Professional Growth
Dr. Mamah’s journey in dentistry began in Nigeria, where she earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery before continuing her education in the United States.
She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1998. During her time at Penn, she also served as an assistant preclinical lab instructor for the Program for Advanced Standing Students, helping foreign-trained dentists transition into the U.S. dental system.
Her commitment to continued professional development has remained an important part of her career. She holds fellowships with the Academy of General Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, along with involvement in several professional dental organizations.
Giving Back to the Community
Dr. Mamah’s commitment to dentistry extends beyond the practice. She regularly participates in community health fairs, provides dental education and care to children, and volunteers through the Donated Dental Services program.
Her involvement in the community reflects the same philosophy that guides her approach to patient care: dental health is an important part of overall wellbeing, and patients deserve access to compassionate care and education.
In 2026, Dr. Mamah was also the only dentist selected to present at the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas Annual Scientific Convention in Chicago. She spoke to an audience of more than 500 medical professionals about the connection between oral health and overall wellness.
Celebrating a Meaningful Recognition
Being recognized as a 2026 NJ Top Dentist is a special moment for Dr. Mamah and everyone at Designing Smiles Dental.
The recognition adds another meaningful milestone to a career dedicated to comprehensive dentistry, lifelong learning, patient education, and community involvement.
Most importantly, Dr. Mamah remains focused on what has always been at the heart of her work: helping patients achieve healthier smiles while creating an experience where they feel respected, informed, and cared for.
